13 FISHERMEN RESCUED AFTER BOAT CAPSIZE IN PALGHAR

MUMBAI: Thirteen fishermen were rescued after their trawler capsized 34 nautical miles (roughly 61 km) off Satpati coast in Palghar on Wednesday.

The boat-Shivneri-is owned by Vinod Gangadhar Patil a Satpati based fisherman.  Due to the mishap there was no wireless contact but Palghar District Collector Dr Prashant Narnaware told Coast Guard to search and rescue the stranded fishermen.

Said a Coast Guard official the incident is a minor one and we are coordinating with the local fishermen who rushed to the spot in their trawlers, when the boat capsized at high seas and rescued the fishermen. As per latest update the rescued fishermen are returning to coast.
