5 SEX ADDICTS WHO CIRCULATED CHILD PORN VIDEOS ON WHATSAPP HELD IN BHAYANDER

MUMBAI : If your child is watching too much of videos on Android phones, in the name of chatting with friends on WhatsApp,  parents it is a caution as he could be watching child pornographic sex clips. Five youths have been arrested by the Navghar police in Bhayander for allegedly circulating child pornographic videos to members of five WhatsApp groups scattered all over the cities of Mumbai, Virar, Vasai, Nalla Sopara, Nashik and other areas in the State. A big racket wherein the sex addicts would circulate only child sex videos on social media has been busted by the Bhayander police. Three persons including the Administrator of the group is absconding and a team has been sent to Nashik to make the arrests.

Atul Kulkarni, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Bhayander said the five youths are confirmed sex addicts who would regularly watch and circulate child sex video clips downloading from pornographic and banned sites on social media, involving children in sexual activities with adults. The five accused had made five WhatsApp groups and around 250 people are its members and the only aim of the group is to circulate child sex video clips,said the official. The accusd would download the videos from banned pornographic sites and one of the accused is a hacker who had the expertise to download the pornographic materials, as such obscene materials is not available on popular search engines,said police.

To become a member of the WhatsApp group, a person has to pay charges which would be deposited online in a bank account, and only after the transaction was made, the Administrator of the WhatsApp would include the person as the member,said police. The racket is spread in Bhayander, Nalla Sopara, Mumbai, Virar, Vasai, Nasik and other areas, and we came to know when  a member of one such whatsapp group complained to us,said the official, and shockingly, the gang were operating and circulating such clips since the past year! Majority of the arrested gang members are in the age group of between 18 to 25 years, and some are recently passed from college and two members are working in a Mumbai firm, he said. Majority of the group members on WhatsApp are college students from all over India and it is a serious matter,said Kulkarni.

We have arrested the five under Section 66(b) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and when produced before the Thane court have been remanded in judicial custody, said the official, while we are in search for three more accused who are hiding in Nashik and a team from the Navghar police have gone to arrest the trio.
