INFANT FOUND DEAD ON TRACKS IN DAHANU

MUMBAI :  A year old infant, a baby boy, was found dead on the tracks, between Dahanu and Gholwad station on early Saturday morning. The Palghar GRP have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating further as the post mortem report is awaited.

Said PI Uttam Sonawane, Palghar GRP, the gangmen of the WR informed us about the body at around 0730 hours and we took custody of the body. It seems that the boy may have fallen from the speeding train while their parents were totally unaware about the incident, said the official. We checked all the GRP stations from Surat and Ratlam divisions to find any missing complaint, but till date, no such complaint have been registered, said PI Sonawane. The parents may have assumed that the boy may have been kidnapped by unknown persons, and may have no clue about his death, said the official.

It seems that the boy may have fallen from the window or door of the jampacked North India bound trains while it was in motion, but we are investigating all possible angles,as the post mortem report is awaited, said PI Sonawane.
