MAN  DISROBED BY MOB FOR THEFT IN VASAI
Mumbai: shocking incident a thief was disrobed and badly beaten up by an irate mob after he was caught redhanded robbing a house in Umela village in Vasai (west).The accused Praveen Kushawah a resident of Dadra and Nagar Haveli committed the theft in the house of Poojan Khusal on Tuesday night. The Manickpur police said that so far it has not emerged if Kushawah is involved in other thefts in the region.On Tuesday night, Poojan stepped out of her house to buy grocery after locking her house. When she returned an hour later she found her household items, including the television and other electronics placed outside the house.
She sensed that there was a thief in the house and raised an alarm. Kushawah who heard the screams latched the door from inside and switched off the lights. When the screams increased he opened the door and began to flee. Poojan’s screams alerted the neighbours who chased the thief and nabbed him from the nearby fields.
Kushawah was brought to the compound of her house where he was disrobed and beaten up till the Manickpur police arrived. He was admitted to the J J hospital from where he was discharged on Thursday. He had sustained fractures to his hands. The police registered a case of theft and would be produced before the Vasai court on Friday.
