RAIL FRACTURE NEAR BOISAR  DISRUPTS MUMBAI TRAFFICALERT GATEMEN NOTICE CRACK

Mumbai :Two alert gatemen noticed a rail fracture near Umroli Road station in Boisar on Saturday early morning. As a result, Mumbai bound traffic was hit for around 25 minutes. Traffic is now returning to normalcy but with speed limits on that stretch.

 The gatemen identified only as Rahul and Gangadhar posted at Gate 49-C/Z-T noticed the crack (pictured) at around 0715 hours and immediately alerted the Traffic department and Mumbai bound trains were halted and maintenance staff rushed to the spot. The rail fracture was near Pole Number 97/17. 

  Said a WR spokesman the rail fracture was rectified by undertaking a joint and the faulty track will be replaced after taking a small mega block. There was a 25 minute delay towards Mumbai he said. The WR will issue appreciation certificates to the two alert gatemen in the due course he said. The rail fracture may have occurred due to the low temperature prevailing in the area due to the winter season said WR sources.
