The UP CM Yogi Adityanath at the Virar rally on Wednesday
MUMBAI : UP CM Yogi Adityanath lashed out at the Shiv Sena by saying that the party idolizes Shivaji Maharaj, but behaves like Afzal Khan, while campaigning for Rajendra Gavit the BJP candidate for the Palghar LS candidate at Manvelpada, Virar (E) on Wednesday late evening.
Beginning his speech in Marathi, he said he was happy to meet the people of Virar. There is a holy relation between Maharashtra and UP, and said Lord Rama had its roots in Panchavati, Nasik and Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of Hindvi Swaraj (Independence) from Maharashtra and priests from Kashi (Varanasi) had come to Ganga ghat in Nasik, said the UP CM. The Sena takes the name of Shivaji Maharaj, but works like Afzal Khan, the Mughal, and people are out to divide Maharashtra and UP, which we will not happen, he added.
Had Balasaheb Thackeray been alive today, he would have been disillussioned by the present scenario in the Shiv Sena, said Yogi Adityanath. The late Sena Supremo never backstabbed people (read BJP) and would face the divisive forces directly, he said.
There was no need for the Shiv Sena to give the ticket to former BJP MP Chintaman Wanga's son Srinivas and it was an internal affair of the BJP and the Shiv Sena had no business to intervene in our (BJP) affairs and hijack Srinivas, which is backstabbing and betrayal, said the CM. We had big plans for Srinivas and it is unfortunate about the recent happenings he said and lauded the works done by the State CM Devendra Fadnavis.
