After serving the Mumbai police for nearly ten years, the four canine soldiers retired in May 2015 and spent their last days in the animal retirement home in Virar, when they died within a few months of each other. The canine soldiers also helped solve many crimes in Mumbai by assisting countless searches. They were also part of operations conducted during the 2006 serial blasts and 2011 blasts.
